The Edge of the World

Overlooking Greers Ferry Lake is a destination with an intimidating name and reputation, the Edge of the World. This several hundred foot drop is quite a scare, but the views are one of a kind. The terrain is similar to the Goat Trail on Big Bluff as you can walk underneath the top along a trail that is only 4 -6 feet wide. Looking down at the lake the boats look like ants. It is a highly dangerous location with at least one death by falling that I’m aware of. The spot has been known as Alums Cave by locals, but the youngsters who come here have spread the name Edge of the World. Although it is a bit cliché it is rather fitting. Enjoy the views.
